United Nations - On 27 September 2015, UNEP honoured five individuals and organizations with the Champions of the Earth award in New York:
- HE Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh
- National Geographic Society
- Paul Polman, CEO Unilever
- Natura Brasil
- Black Mamba Anti-Poaching Unit
UNEP Goodwill Ambassador Ian Somerhalder emceed the Gala with Nikki Reed. Fellow UNEP Goodwill Ambassador Gisele Bündchen, World Bank Group Vice President Rachel Kyte, Vogue Italia editor in chief Franca Sozzani and HH Sheikh Mubarac Al-Sabah presented the awards.
