Best way to deal with disrespect
Complete transcript:

When we grew up in homes with toxic or dysfunctional people we were unable to remove ourselves. We needed to be around those people to survive and this rewires our stress response so as adults instead of removing ourselves from dysfunctional people, we try even harder to get them to change or to treat us better.

We tell ourselves all of these things like we need closure that we have to understand why they did what they did or we make up excuses for them. And in the process we blame ourselves. The best way to deal with disrespect or betrayal is to to fully remove yourself. What you didn't learn in childhood is that you are valuable access to you your thoughts and your emotions is not something that everyone deserves.

Your role in life is not to teach people how to behave. It's not to get them to go to therapy or to understand that they have trauma that needs healing remove yourself give them the clearest message of all that disrespect means that they've lost all access to you you can move on without closure you can move on with self resect.
