For most of us, when we are born, our birth is registered, and so are many other important events during our lives. Whether we get married, have children, move to a new place, find a job or go to school, the changes in our lives are recorded.
So why do we need to register, count and report all of these things?
This year's Commission on Population and Development will highlight the critical importance of demographic data and analysis for achieving sustainable development and for ensuring that no one is left behind in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
