As has been discussed before, most (probably around 75%) of the films made by Warner Brothers at the Teddington Studios in the UK are now lost. What is equally sad is that now the survivors are very rarely seen, a great shame as they hold up well and compare very favourably with other quota quickies produced by other studios at the same time. A short retrospective of Teddington's output on TCM in 2007 included the thriller "Crime Unlimited", with Esmond Knight as a detective going undercover to unmask a gang of jewel thieves, a plot theme that has been since well repeated but which probably seemed quite novel in 1935. The film is also of note as it marked the screen debut of Lili Palmer. I'll be removing "Crime Unlimted" in two weeks time, so please view soon if you would like to see it.
