I have danced for MTV, Diana Ross, Marc Jacobs and have appeared in many music videos. You can find more information about me and my career, as well as photos and videos, at www.dgtnyc.com. I'm going to be talking to you about ballet. When you're a parent entering your son or daughter in to a ballet program make sure you're not entering them at to young of an age. If they don't like it when they are 2 or 3 don't worry you can enroll them when they turn 4 or 5 or even 6 and they will have no problem entering in to a pre-professional and also a professional program. Also, make sure that you are encouraging your son or daughter at all times. You never want to push them in to this art form. It is a very hard art form especially when you become the professional level. And, you want to make sure that these students are always encouraged and are not doing something that they don't like to do. It's going to take up a lot of their time and they need your full support. You also, want to make sure that there is a pre-professional program attached to the ballet school your son or daughter will attend. This will help them with the intense training and time it takes to become a professional dancer.
