if it’s peach season, then it looks like you’re all year round
it’s mango & peach season, and this was too good to pass up. ngl when i think about mango & peaches together i think of jollibee’s pie. i made this recipe with unripe fruits & honestly, the tart balances everything out perfectly if you preserve it in the compote. so if your fruits are ripe, you can lower the sugar content in your compote. i also used heavy cream in my recipe for extra *sparkle emoji* creaminess *sparkle emoji* and to make some whipped cream on the side (not videoed)
i also find it funny that when you try to cut your hawaiian french toast rolls in half they make a smol fart noise lol. is anyone actually reading this rn? drop a *smoke emoji* in the comments if you got this far *golden heart emoji*
Mango Peach King’s Hawaiian French Toast Recipe:
french toast:
½ cup milk, half n’ half, or heavy cream
¼ cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp butter
1 pack king’s hawaiian sweet rolls (12pc)
fruit compote:
1 mango (semi-ripe)
1 peach (semi-ripe)
¼ cup sugar
extra:
powdered sugar or whipped cream

make the french toast: mix together choice of milk, sugar, eggs, & cinnamon in a large bowl
butter your pan on medium-low heat. dip your hawaiian rolls into your mixture, coat on all sides, & let excess liquid drip off. on medium heat, cook your dipped rolls, making sure to flip & cook on all sides (turn frequently to avoid burning). set aside
make the fruit compote: peel & chop your mango & peach. in a small saucepan, heat half of the chopped fruit with sugar over medium/medium-high heat while stirring until thick & bubbly. toss in your remaining fruit to have a variety of ‘tart’ in your compote. remove from heat
assemble your french toast cubes on plates. top with your fruit compote. enjoy! optional: garnish with sifted powdered sugar or pair with whipped cream.
