Written as a photo comic book, Ge Wang charts new ethical and aesthetic territory in Artful Design, published by Stanford University Press. Wang, associate professor of music in the School of Humanities and Sciences and, by courtesy, of computer science in the School of Engineering, is a designer of instruments, toys and games—and the director of the Stanford Laptop Orchestra (SLOrk). His varied research focuses on programming languages and interactive software design for computer music, mobile and social music, computer orchestras and education at the intersection of computer science, music and the humanities.
