Soups are a great way to keep the budget down, get energy and use up all the extras. Rice, boiled, steamed or fried a great belly filler. Pasta, again super versatile and budget friendly. Beans and Lentils, super healthy, cheap and versatile. Buying dried beans and soaking them will be cheaper than canned, longer prep time though.
