If you love cotton candy but can't stand carnivals—and who would blame you?—you don't have to sacrifice your sanity for your favorite fluffy treat. You can make the machine yourself with just some basic electronics and household items!

This project is remarkably easy, and if you've ever worked with any kind of electronics in your home, you probably already have most of the parts. All you need is an electric motor, a battery, a lighter, a few caps off of a juice bottle, a connector and some wires. You'll have to do a bit of drilling too—but again, nothing too complicated. Check out this video for a great walkthrough on how to build it and make the cotton candy itself. If you don't like cotton candy, you should watch the video anyways—it's amazing how so few materials can actually produce something useful and delicious!
