My name is Aan and today I'm going to talk about the best beauty and fashion trends of 2017. We all know how quickly such trends can come and go, but I consider that it is important to highlight the ones that have left a standing impression.
Beauty and fashion often go hand in hand, this being the reason for which the runaway is the best place to depict current trends that borrow a little bit from both of these two fields. These are the beauty and fashion trends to remember from 2017:
1. Hair accessories - returning after a long absence, deluxe hair accessories have accompanied the most beautiful creations, bearing the trademark signature of famous designers. Popular items included the headband with pearls (Chanel), the elegant black velvet bow (Rochas) and the rugged leather beret (Dior).
2. Minimal makeup - after a long period where makeup was applied with generosity, this year, we have witnessed the return of the minimal makeup. The emphasis was placed on clear complexions, with neutral tones and moisturized skin.
3. 1960s - the decade served as inspiration for both fashion designers and hair stylists. We have seen collections borrowing elements from those unique years, as well as the return of the pixie bob, which was equally popular back then.
4. Neon colors - popular in the 1990s, they have somehow managed to make a comeback, being chosen for both hair and makeup. Models have walked the runaway, presenting electrifying shades of neon colors, including orange, pink and red.
5. Smokey eye reinvented - the ever-popular smokey eye makeup was reinvented this year, with more and more makeup artists putting their own talent and imagination into the mixture. We had the opportunity to see unique adaptations, such as the gothic smear or the blurred smoky eyes.
