What happens when we cut an apple into smaller pieces? We take a whole apple and cut it in half. We then take a half of an apple and cut it into quarters. Maybe we even go a step further and cut those quarters into eights! Prepping a tasty snack is most definitely a math activity. You have just set up the perfect opportunity to play and eat with an apple fractions math activity!

I often do Apple fractions with my nephews! We had a great time with playing around with our apple fractions math activity just yesterday. We made different combinations of a whole apple which gave my nephews plenty of opportunities to make observations about the way fractions work! Number sense is super important and providing an opportunity for kids to explore mathematical concepts is essential!
