In this week’s vlog, we celebrate Rylan’s 13th birthday! Rylan turning 13 means there are four teenagers living in the house! Four teenage girls living in one house! Luckily, Rylan, Brooklyn, Bailey, and Kamri get along pretty well! Rylan spends her birthday with her family and also took a couple of her friends to go get their nails done!
You’ll also see how we spent our Spring Break, as a family, flying to the Dominican Republic to see the fresh drinking water facility that we built there with the help of our viewer's donations! We got to see how the community lived before the purified drinking water. All 6 of us did a traditional water walk, a walk from the main village to the closest fresh waterhole, with buckets to fill up. Traditionally its walked by women and young girls with much bigger buckets. The girls have to skip school to gather the dirty drinking water. We also taught good hygiene practices to the town we donated the water too. We stayed and danced and played with some local children and genuinely had a good time with the people we helped!
Most importantly, we got to see the real impact that our donated water facility brought to the people in this small town in the Dominican Republic. This facility will give 5,000 people fresh purified drinking water. What a wonderful way to spend our spring break!
