Three friends set out to play. Little did they know that they would meet so many animals. Would you like to meet them too?
A Street, or a Zoo?
Authors: Mala Kumar, Manisha Chaudhry
Sonu, Monu and Rina
went out to play.
While outside,
they saw a kitten.
She was looking at a big rat.
"Oh look!" shouted Sonu.
Rina saw that a tiny ant
was going towards the big rat.
Suddenly,
a very big shadow
fell upon them all.
A giant eagle
flew down to the street.
On the street
there were a tiny ant,
a small kitten,
a big rat and a giant eagle!
What would the three clever children
do now?
They clapped their little hands!
The eagle spread its big wings
and flew away.
Rina made the ant climb onto a leaf.
Then, she left the leaf on a wall.
The ant saw a grain of sugar
so she picked it up
and ran home.
Next the big rat picked up
a half-eaten pakoda,
and went back into the drain.
Then the small kitten said
'meoww'
and started licking her paw.
Monu got her some milk in a cup
and the three kids played with her
while the giant eagle
sitting on the tree blinked
and flew far away.
