Project Yellow Light is a scholarship competition designed to bring about change. The contest calls on students to develop and produce a short video educating their peers on the dangers of texting and driving. Project Yellow Light is a film, billboard, and radio competition for college students and high school juniors and seniors. Students create compelling stories, designs, and audio that encourages their peers to develop safe driving habits. The Project Yellow Light scholarship was created by the family of Hunter Garner to honor his memory after his death in a car crash at age 16. Each year the winner of the competition receives the Hunter Garner Scholarship.
