From lives lost to schools destroyed, Yemen’s children are bearing the brunt of the recent conflict taking hold of their country.
An average of 8 children have been killed or injured every day since the beginning of the conflict in late March. Displacement, insecurity and the growing threat of disease and malnutrition put the majority of Yemeni children at very high risk.
Across the country, nearly 10 million children – 80 percent of the country’s under-18 population – are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. UNICEF has responded to the most critical health, psychosocial and education needs, but those efforts remain underfunded.
