Pathologists often use tissue samples and microscopy to help diagnose diseases like cancer. But distinguishing different cells often require several stages of staining. Now researchers are presenting a new type of microscope slide which uses nanotechnology to change the perceived colour of cells without staining them. They say that this could help diagnose diseases like cancer.
