✎ He took up kickboxing and at the age of 12. At the age of 18, McGregor made his mixed martial arts debut. He was victorious via technical knockout in the first round. In February 2013, UFC announced that they had signed McGregor to a multi-fight contract. He made his UFC debut against Marcus Brimage, winning via TKO just over a minute into the first round. He pressures opponents with forward movement and carefully timed, powerful strikes. He's known for being the biggest pay-per-view draw in MMA, as well as his extravagant lifestyle and trash talking. Upon defeating Eddie Alvarez, he became the first fighter in the UFC's history to hold titles in two weight divisions simultaneously. During his career, McGregor has competed as a featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight. He would spend the majority of his public appearances in early-2017 campaigning for a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather. He received acclaim when he knocked out UFC featherweight champion José Aldo in 13 seconds.
