Did you know that a Cambridge student society played a big part in the Indian independence movement?

Subhas Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru, Manmohan Singh and Amartya Sen were all alumni of the Cambridge Majlis and this year, its current members hosted an archival exhibition commemorating the society's rich and fascinating history.

Held at Trinity College's Wren Library, the exhibition showcased the growth of the South Asian community in Cambridge and its role in the Indian independence movement.

From minutes, letters and speeches, the archival exhibition pieced together the social, academic and political lives of some of the key forebears of modern South Asia while also celebrating today’s Cambridge South Asian community.

Hear from Laleh and Ananya who talk about the recent discoveries.
