United Nations - According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), one million people are on the brink of famine in South Sudan due to insecurity and lack of humanitarian access. Humanitarian organizations are urgently appealing for funding to respond to the escalating crisis. USD 1.6 billion is required to provide life-saving assistance.
