Harry Liu, a current Berklee student from mainland China, performs "Suite of Ruan" an original suite of music on the ruan, a traditional Chinese musical instrument 1000s of years old. This piece combines Ruan’s traditional repertoire from composers such as Jiliang Lin, Xin Liu, and Yong Ning, with improvisation based in world music, funk, blues, and rock, giving ancient life a new soul.
