When people come over to the house and they give me a really nice, thoughful hostess gift and it's Chardonnay, the first thought I have is, "Okay. Who can I hand it off to?" I learned recently that you don't have to hand off bottles of wine that you don't like. What you can do is make a Wine Cocktail. Take the bottle of Chardonnay. Get out one of your cocktail glasses. Fill it with ice. Pour in a serving of Chardonnay, and add to it a jigger of Aperol, and then some Orange Bitters. Take a citrus like and orange or a lemon, rim the glass. I squeeze some in. Drop it in and I have a very light, fruity Wine Cocktail.
