Hello Everyone,
My name is Ron Desi and today I'm going to talk about the low-carb and ketogenic diet. This type of diet can be used to lose weight and boost brain health at the same time.
This is how the low-carb, ketogenic diet boosts brain health:
Brain no longer functions on carbs; instead, it uses ketones as fuel and, thus, common symptoms, such as fogginess or tiredness are eliminated.
A low-carb intake guarantees improved brain function.
With the carb intake being minimized, the ketones can cover the energy needs of the brain.
The brain is no longer dependent on glucose to function, so there are no risks of sugar spikes and subsequent crashes.
This diet can boost brain health, keeping neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease away.
The low-carb, ketogenic diet has been promoted by numerous institutions and organizations, especially in relation to boosting brain health. The US Institute of Medicine's Food and Nutrition Board has advocated for a lower carb intake as well.
