Welcome to our new Collections Research Centre, which is part of the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences. In this tour we will introduce you to our new building, highlighting the storage capabilities of the new collections store, as well as the additional facilities and resources we now have. We will introduce you to the processes involved in migrating our extensive petrology collection, including 150 tonnes of rock specimens, from their current location to the new store.

The new Research Centre will enable the museum to do so much more. From enhancing our offering to researchers, to improving the access and care of this important collection ensuring they can be studied and enjoyed for generations to come.

This event will premier online at 10am on Friday 10 September and will be followed by a live question and answer session. The video will then be available to watch back throughout the duration of the festival.
