Two trainers, each with a 60 card deck, take turns battling each other's Pokemon, trying to knock them out and claim prize cards.During set up, each player draws seven cards, places some on their bench, picks one as an active Pokemon, and then draws 6 prize cards. These are cards they don't know about yet; they don't look at them yet. After a coin flip, the game begins.""Heads or Tails?""""Tails.""A player will draw a card. During your turn, before you attack, a player may evolve a Pokemon, may play a Pokemon to their bench, they may attach an energy card to their Pokemon, they may play a trainer card to help set up their Pokemon for attacks. Finally, you may attack. After your attack, your turn ends, but if you knock out your opponent's Pokemon, you take a prize card.If you take all 6 prize cards, or if your opponent has no more Pokemon in play, or if they run out of cards in their deck, you win. A typical game lasts about 20-30 minutes, but shorter or longer games are not uncommon.
