Join us for hotel tour in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India as we showcase our spacious haveli style room on the rooftop floor of the Tokyo Palace Hotel:
Although this is a modern hotel, and therefore not a 'real' old haveli (Indian mansion) it is definitely inspired after one with its intricate design, sandstone walls and high ceilings. If you're traveling around Rajasthan staying in a havelis is definitely an option in places like Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur or Udaipur just to name a few. Unlike most hotels around the world this place has a lot of charm and character. Whenever we get a chance to stay in a place like this we jump at it if our budget allows.

Jaisalmer Hotel Room Tour in India (Rajasthan Haveli Style) Travel Video Transcript:
Well welcome to another episode of the Indian Palace
So we don't make hotel room tours very often unless it is like a really quirky or unusual place. And when we booked this place we were like oh yeah you guys are getting a tour.
So basically come on in. Right now we are in Jaisalmer (जैसलमेर) in Rajasthan (राजस्थान), India and we booked a hotel room that is kind of like Haveli style (हवेली). And a haveli (حویلی) is havelis (हवेली) are old traditional mansions.
You need to do a 360. The walls are yellow sandstone.
It feels historic.
So these are the beds. And over here. This is awesome. This is like the old haveli (हवेली) type of couch.
So on the day bed you also have these cool pillows with like patchwork and beadwork and embroidery and this is the kind of thing that you can actually buy inside the fort in Jaisalmer (जैसलमेर).
Yeah, they have a lot of cool crafts. They have some I would have to say it is some of the best shopping in all of India. Like I've traveled to quite a few places in India in the past and Jaisalmer (जैसलमेर) is a great place.
Yeah, you can get like cushions and like wall covers and figurines.
Anyways let's continue with a room tour.
Our room this is all they had available so we got two single beds and again check out that piece of artwork on the wall.
And even the furniture is really cool. Like look at this chair. And a room like this is in the $20 something US dollar range.
And the bathroom. We have not shown you the bathroom.
Anyways come on in. So it is like a walk-in bathroom. So everything gets wet. Yep. We've got our sinks. Typical wet bathroom in Asia.
Um but yeah this hotel is called Tokyo Palace Hotel. It is outside the fort and there is quite a few things we like about it.
So the number one thing is that we're actually on the same floor as the rooftop restaurant. So it has this massive terrace. And we get amazing views of the fort. Yeah. The fort in Jaisalmer (जैसलमेर). It is just incredible.
Like there is another terrace. It is not actually used for anything. They kind of use it to just wash and dry clothes. But it is one of the best views of sunrise. So we actually see that everyday golden orb you know coming up over the horizon.
I also really like to a lot of hotels in India in general rooms tend to be quite a bit more spacious. Uh, than almost anywhere else. Like I find them even more spacious than western or European hotel rooms for example.
And you often have really high ceilings here too which is cool. It gives it kind of like that Old World charm. You know like these massive ceilings.
I find that uh a lot of the hotel rooms in India have a lot of charm and character to them.
I think it is our next destination in Jodhpur (जोधपुर) we actually booked a hotel inside an old haveli (حویلی). Right. So it should be a similar style. Yeah. If it is cool maybe we'll do an another tour. Yeah, this is like a modern take on a haveli (हवेली) style. Whereas that is actually an old haveli (حویلی) building. Yeah.
Which will be really cool. We'll definitely show that one too. Anyways, we hope you enjoyed the hotel tour.
Tata until next time. Alright and out you go. Let me show you the door. Thank you for coming. Goodbye.
