On the International Day of Peace, United Nations Messenger of Peace, Michael Douglas, has called for a reduction of trade in small arms in order to relieve the world from what he described as a"terrible plight". Speaking to the UN News Centre about his passion for the reduction of small arms on a global scale, Mr. Douglas also called for the removal of small arms that have been left behind in the conflict-torn countries, particularly in Afghanistan and Iraq.
