Your data is scattered among many different organizations – but regulations like Europe’s GDPR give you the right to download it from all of them. What if you could then deposit all your data in an “information bank”, which could lend it out to improve the delivery of services? Ryosuke Shibasaki, Director of the Center for Spatial Information Science at the University of Tokyo, explains that the concept is becoming a reality in Japan.
