United Nations - After almost 50 years of military rule, Myanmar, formerly known as Burma in Southeast Asia is witnessing sweeping change. In the first general elections after a change in government in 2011, Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi won a landslide victory. Myanmar’s youth who participated in a project called Debate Education for Democracy supported by UNDEF, the United Nations Democracy Fund, can now test their newly acquired skills in building a true democracy in their country.
