Robots used in manufacturing are rigid – to be useful in a wider range of real-world situations, they need to become as flexible as animals. Sangbae Kim introduces MIT’s Cheetah project, showing the state of the art in robots performing complex tasks such as landing safely after jumping over an obstacle.
