SAND SLEDDING!!

We hardly see snow where we live, so sand sledding sounded like a perfectly fun activity as we were driving and saw a sign for White Sands National Monument. The funny thing is that we decided to go there because we thought it would be pretty (and we needed a break from driving), but when we got there we saw people carrying snow sleds and discs. We asked if people were really allowed to sled and they said yes, so we bought some discs and had a fantastic time! This is actually not technically sand, it is gypsum and it is very cold due to a water table beneath the sand that keeps the temperature down. When we didn't have shoes on, our feet were freezing!
