With inflation at over 700%, South Sudanese are grappling with harsh challenges of urban poverty and food insecurity, according to Ellen Margrethe Løj, the outgoing UN envoy to the country. Ms. Løj, who has also been serving as head of the UN Mission to South Sudan (UNMISS) called for the guns to be silenced in the country in order to alleviate the suffering of its people, when she recently spoke to the UN News Service.
