Pop culture commentator Tefi Pessoa shares her tips on exploring your roots and identity through travel.

As a first-generation Latin American, travel has played a part in helping Tefi understand her parent’s heritage, culture and traditions.

Alongside her Brazilian father and Colombian mother, she has taken formative trips to both Bogotá and Rio. But it was a solo trip to Bogotá at age 22 when she was “having an identity crisis” that changed everything.

In this “Travel your roots” episode, Tefi shares everything she’s learned about understanding your family’s cultural heritage, and why it’s so important.

Watch the episode to find out:

What’s the best vacation to go on with your partner?

What are the best things to do when visiting your parent’s home country?

How does heritage travel help you travel alone?

What’s the best way of getting to know your roots through travel?

What does the inside of a granadilla look like?
