Travelling to NORTHERN ARGENTINA (Overnight Bus) + First Impressions of TUCUMAN ☀️

It's time to say goodbye Cordoba, hello Tucuman! In today's video, we begin the long overland journey to northern Argentina. Our next stop: the province of Tucuman, which happens to be the smallest province in Argentina.

We said goodbye to our cosy cottage in the sierras of Cordoba, made a little pit stop in the city of Alta Gracia to visit some Jesuit ruins, dropped the rental car off at the airport, took a taxi to the bus terminal, and then hung around a diner while we waited to catch our overnight bus to the city of San Miguel de Tucuman.

Our first impressions of Tucuman were very positive! We rented an apartment that was just a few blocks from the main square, and for our first meal in the city, we treated ourselves to some classic northern Argentine food: empanadas, humitas, tamales and locro (a hearty stew with squash, corn, beans and meat).

Later that afternoon we visited the Historical House of Tucumán, where the Argentine Declaration of Independence was issued on July 9, 1816!

We also booked a tour for the following day, so stay tuned for an action-packed day visiting some of Tucuman's top attractions.
