Is this what it looks like when you try to write your life plans?
Has life turned out exactly as you expected?

As I wrote in my book, “There’s a name for when things don’t work out the way you thought they would. It’s called ‘life.’” So I’ve learned to make my plans in pencil, not Sharpie. I’ve learned to embrace the unexpected and messy, to arm myself with a great sense of humor and a “good enough” attitude. Life will surprise us with some unexpected plot twists, but let's make sure we're not wasting our time pining for how we thought it should all look like and, instead, make the best of what is.
