Running shoes are typically made entirely out of plastic, thanks to the material's durability. But companies have been experimenting with finding plastic alternatives for running shoes. After years of research, Reebok has been able to produce a running shoe, the Forever Floatride GROW, that is 60% plant-based. The upper mesh, sock liner, midsole, and outsole include materials like eucalyptus tree bark, algae, castor beans, and rubber. The remaining 40% of the shoe is still made out of plastic to ensure the high-performance for a running shoe.
