United Nations - For seventy years, most of the records of the landmark UN War Crimes Commission remained locked away. Active from 1943 until 1948, the Commission investigated and assisted national governments with the trials of World War II criminals from Europe and the Far East. At last, the release of the records can shine a light on the lessons to be learned from the horrors of war.
