Facial Paralysis catogorised into two:
i ) Upper Motor Neuron - Usually accompanied by hemiplegia, either on the same side or opposite side, according to the sight of lesion
Ii) Lower Motor neuron type of Facial Paralysis - ( Bell's Palsy). The seventh Cranial Nerve is the motor nerve, supplies the muscles of the face. It is also carries taste sensation 2/3 of the tongue. Facial Nerve runs along the medial wall of internal Ear. Common cause of Facial Paralysis - Bell's Palsy due to Viral infection and inflammation of Facial Nerve.
