Please join us for a conversation “unpacking” the current exhibition Shinohara Kazuo: ModerNext. We will be joined by Taishin Shiozaki, who will discuss Shinohara's sketches, and Angela Pang, who will lend insights into the exhibition's design. Mark Lee will join Shiozaki and Pang in conversation.
Angela Y. Pang is principal of PangArchitects. Angela received her BArch degree from Cornell and MArch II from Harvard. Prior to establishing PangArchitect in 2010 she worked for Rafael Moneo in Madrid and SANAA in Tokyo.
Shiozaki Taishin is associate professor of architecture at Tokyo Institute of Technology. He received his bachelor’s and doctoral degrees from the same school in 2000 and 2009 respectively and was a member of the laboratory of Okuyama Shin’inchi. Between 2003 and 2006 Shiozaki assisted Shinohara Kazuo on a series of design projects, most notably the House in Tateshina. Together with Kobayashi Saeco he is principal of the firm Atelierco, which has been recognized with SD Review in 2018 and Good Design Award 2010. He was also co-editor of the monographic issue “Kazuo Shinohara” from JA (no. 93).
