世界上有超过1600万名儿童是艾滋孤儿，其中多达1400万儿童生活在撒哈拉以南非洲。阿尔喀德斯·苏亚雷斯（Alcides Soares）来自莫桑比克，自父母因艾滋病离世起，便被迫过早地承担起了生活的重担。一位电影制作人送他的摄像机使得他的生活有了转机，他用这台摄像机记录了作为艾滋孤儿独自成长、找寻家园，以及与弟弟团聚的故事。
