Oslo is located in Eastern Norway and occupies an arc of land at the northernmost end of the Oslofjord. The city has a population of about 1.7million in the metropolitan area. In 2013 Oslo tied with the Australian city of Melbourne as the fourth most expensive city in the world, according to the EIU's Worldwide Cost of Living study.
