Since the historic market downturn, millions of people have lost their homes; millions more are struggling to avoid foreclosure; others cannot buy a house now, due to tighter credit standards. How will federal policy respond? In his lecture, Mel Martinez—a former U.S. Senator and Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development—will discuss the options lawmakers must consider, to chart a course for recovery. Sen. Martinez is currently the Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Policy Center Housing Commission and Chairman of the JP MorganChase Foundation.
