Hi, beauties. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Melrose and I'm a Fashion and Beauty Blogger at DécorElise.com. As you can tell, I'm all ready for spring. I'm super excited for spring fashion and makeup and nail colors and everything and I'm actually very happy to collaborate with ConsumerHealthDigest.com to bring you guys some eye makeup tips and tricks.
As we all know, our eyes have very sensitive skin and sometimes they just get puffy or we get horrible dark circles under our eyes. Before we put any makeup on, there's some things that we can do to limit the amount of concealer that we have to use. Some of my favorite do it yourself tricks are with things that most of us already have at home. You can use green or black tea and this has caffeine, which stimulates blood circulation and it actually helps to tighten the skin under your eyes.
Another way to get the blood flow going is to use a tapping motion when you apply your eye cream and don't forget to use your ring finger because it actually has the lightest touch and you won't want to pull on the skin since it's a sensitive area and this will help your dark circles, too. You can also use aloe vera, it's not just for sunburns, I know. It actually contains over 18 amino acids that can help moisturize your skin and prevent wrinkles.
Then there's rose water. My personal favorite. It has Vitamin C and A and that can be used as an anti-inflammatory. You can also use witch hazel or cold water or cold spoons to reduce the swelling and the puffiness. It also helps to limit how much salt you eat so that you don't retain water that causes your eyes to be puffy. It's also really important that you always cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin. These are a few of my favorite products. Some skin care products as well as makeup products and I will link everything down below in the description block.
First, I like to start with an eye shadow base and I use Mac's Paint Pot. I'm going to apply a soft shade as a base to blend with my skin tone and to highlight my brow, I like to use the same highlighter as I do for my face. To give your eyes some depth, contour your eyes with an eye shadow two shades darker than your skin tone. Then you're going to diffuse everything with a blending brush. My all-time favorite trick for the perfect winged liner look is tape. You could even use this when you're doing your eye shadow for a sharper look.
When applying concealer, you get the most out of it when you extend it into sort of a triangle shape. It hides your dark circles better than just under the eyes. To look more awake, I love doing two things. The first one is setting my concealer with a banana powder. It just brightens up everything and you can find it in so many brands. The second one is applying a bright shadow in the inner corners of my eyes.
