Hello Ladies,
My name is Jessica and today I’m going to talk about a subject of great importance, meaning pregnancy and/or childbirth phobia. Expectant mothers often deal with anxiety and feelings of confusion, as well as those who are trying to conceive. While such feelings are completely normal, it is possible that certain women experience extreme anxiety and fear. In such situations, professional help is more than necessary.
There are many women who become scared at the thought of being pregnant and having to give birth. A big part of the problem is entering unknown territory, worrying about the development of the baby and how you are going to cope with the changes that pregnancy brings. As for childbirth, the idea of a painful experience is what scares almost all pregnant women.
The extreme fear and anxiety associated with pregnancy/childbirth phobia can have negative consequences over your life. It can force to make bad decisions, as delaying the actual pregnancy or even considering abortion. Moreover, such intense feelings could make you decide for unnecessary procedures, such as a C-section.
The good news is that there are plenty of ways to get over your fears, no matter how intense they might be. You can discuss your issues with a psychologist, talk to other expectant mothers or involve your partner in the process. What matters is that you speak up and do not bury these feelings.
Pregnancy is a wonderful experience, especially when you have the right support system. As for childbirth, always remind yourself that you are giving life and that is what matters the most. For more information on pregnancy health, follow ConsumerHealthDigest.com.
