Ban expresses UN's "full support and commitment" to Cyprus peace talks

United Nations - The UN-brokered Cyprus peace talks started today (7 November) in Switzerland. Meeting with the Greek and Turkish Cypriot leaders, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon highlighted the commitment of both leaders "to do their utmost in order to reach a settlement within 2016". The UN chief also expressed the world body's full support for the peace process, which, he said "will be determined by Cypriots, for all Cypriots."
