United Nations - Despite the routine flooding of their homes, residents of several Paraguayan cities refuse to relocate.
The flooding this year has been especially bad due to the heavy rains from the El Nino weather system; around 1200 families were displaced.
Experts recently met at a UN conference in Paraguay to discuss disaster risk reduction plans.
The Italian NGO, Coopi, has been working to support those who live in the flooded cities of Falcon and Nanawa, and to make the region as a whole more resilient.
