Johanna Basford is an award-winning illustrator and designer, best known for her intricate black and white hand drawn illustrations. She published her second book, Wonderlands, in 2013.
I had the pleasure of collaborating on this project in 2012 with Johanna, alongside Whitespace and photographer Jakub Iwanicki.
Over a long day of shooting, Johanna slavishly worked to produce a series of complex designs to illustrate the advice and support available from Business Gateway.
From that point on, it was my job to breathe life into the images: creating a time-lapse effect on the footage; compositing the various sequences; and building in animated elements.
The result of the teamwork was a beautifully presented film, which featured on 4od and other video on demand platforms in early 2013.
