C1-C2 students must learn to avoid these kinds of mistakes. First, watch for "dangling" modifiers -- these kinds of reduced adverb clauses with a participle must have the same subject as the main clause. Second, be careful with subject-verb agreement. Finally, coordinated pairs of words (with "and"/"or") as well as lists must have parallel structure. That means all the items grouped together must be grammatically equal.
