Hello, everyone;
My name is Jessica and today I’m going to talk about alcohol consumption during pregnancy. We all know that there are many doctors, medical associations and other professional bodies that recommend mothers-to-be to completely avoid alcohol during their pregnancy. But are they going too far?
While no one says that alcohol consumption should be encouraged during pregnancy, it seems that advertising campaigns and official guidelines are taking things too far. In fact, it seems that there are a lot of women who have considered abortion, about their high level of alcohol consumption.
These new guidelines restrict alcohol consumption altogether, as opposed to the previous recommendations, in which pregnant women were allowed to consume alcohol in a reduced quantity (1-2 units per week). Such restrictions can cause certain women to enter in a state of panic, especially if they have to deal with an unplanned pregnancy. Thus, the risk of abortion is considerably higher, due to the newly created fears.
Health experts are still debating how safe it is to drink alcohol during pregnancy. However, given the fact that drinking alcohol is a social activity for a lot of women, the complete restriction could lead to negative consequences. This is especially valid for younger women, who consume alcohol in moderate quantities, as part of their social interaction routine.
If you are pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant, you should talk to a doctor about alcohol consumption during pregnancy. For more information on pregnancy health, follow ConsumerHealthDigest.com.
