For a second year, a team of chemical engineering students joined forces to develop and race an entry in the Chem-E-Car competition, an event that is part of the regional meetings of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

Each car needs to be propelled by, and stopped by, chemical reactions. "Team Koala-ty" put in hundreds of man-hours redesigning the car from last year's version, which didn't make it off the finish line. This year's Chem-E-Car met a better fate. As team leader Charles Chiang '19 said, "It's been a really fun experience to see this process from beginning to end."
