We recorded this 4k ultra hd video during our trip to Cologne (Köln), Germany on August 2020.
Straddling the river Rhine, Cologne (Köln) is the largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia and the fourth largest city in Germany with more than 1.000.000 inhabitants. In medieval times it was the largest city of the Holy Roman Empire. Nowadays, Cologne is one of the nation's media, tourism and business hotspots and is known as one of the most liberal cities in Germany.
Cologne was one of the most heavily bombed cities in Germany during World War II. The bombing reduced the population by 95%, mainly due to evacuation, and destroyed almost the entire city centre. With the intention of restoring as many historic landmarks as possible, the postwar rebuilding has resulted in a very mixed and unique cityscape.
Our guided walking tour is about 3.42 miles (5.5 km) long, starts at Hohenzollern Bridge, ends at Cologne Cathedral and covers most attractions and historic sites of Cologne (Köln).
